About the Artist
Right from a very early
age art has always been a favourite, and over the years Eileen has
enrolled in various art courses, including life, design and still life
studies. Since retiring she has been fortunate to be able to spend more
time on her art work work and her other passion - patchwork and
quilting. In 1998 she and her husband started up an art group with a
small number artists who meet at their house twice a month. Each year
they hold a charity art and craft exhibition (see exhibition page) from
which the members donate part of their proceeds to a nominated charity.
Since 1988 Eileen has also been a Regional Co-ordinator for the Society
of All Artists.
About my Art:
"In recent years most of
my work has been commissions, mainly PET and and ANIMAL PORTRAITS, which
are a favourite of mine. I will work from clear, detailed photographs
which enable me to capture the expressions and personality of the
animal.
When commissioned to paint
a pet portrait I first of all do a complete pencil study which enables
me to get to know my subject. I then transfer that to canvas and usually
work up the painting using oils. I also do portraits in pastels.
My other interests are people portraits, flowers or floral paintings and
landscape".
A brochure is available
for further information on pet or people portraits.

FEATHER PAINTINGS. Not very often seen in the UK, feather painting
has its origins in USA where the American Indians still paint using this
technique.
Like any other artist,
I appreciate any feedback regarding my art work and hope you will take a
minute or two to send in your comments.
